Q1. Why use Leitz Tools:

Q2. What facilities are available at Leitz Service Centre ?
ANSWER: Servicing : At Leitz Service Centre, we have the most modern facilities for regrinding and reconditioning of all types of tooling with the servicing conforming to International Standards. Manufacturing : The Bayswater manufacturing plant can manufacture tools from HSS, Carbide and Diamond as per the customer’s requirement. Trading : Now world class tools from Leitz are with in your reach. For any standard tools in our range, will be made available to you with in a short time.
Q3. How do I choose the right sawblade for my application ?
ANSWER: Refer to Leitz catalogue or CD. Our application Engineers are also available to help you to identify the right tool for right application. Please contact us for this.
Q4. How do I know when the sawblade is due for regrinding ?
ANSWER: Any of the following " When you notice burr on the cut edge. " Edges (chipping) breaking in laminated board while cutting " When you observe the "increase in Resistance" during cutting. " If the tips have chipped off or broken during operations (due to presence of foreign particles)
Q5. Can you retip all the tips in a sawblade?
ANSWER: No, Leitz retips only 25% of the total tips. It is not advisable to retip more than 25% of tips as it becomes uneconomical.
Q6. What should be done when a Sawblade wobbles ?
ANSWER: Ensure that the sawblade is properly clamped with correct size of flanges. Remove any dust, dirt between the flanges and blade while tightening. Check for any play in spindle. Send the sawblade to our service center for check up after checking for the above two points.
Q7. Can I continue to use if one or two teeth are broken.
ANSWER: It is better to replace the broken tooth immediately, as chances of further damage of other teeths are likely to occur.
Q8. How many regrinds I can get in a Leitz Sawblade.
ANSWER: About 15-20 regrinds, if blades are sent for service as when you observe the points detailed at Q. No.6.
Q9. Is anything other than sharpening done when servicing?
ANSWER: The tool geometry is restored to its exacting original specifications. The blades are checked for body tensions if required. Tips are changed wherever necessary etc. All these go to give you a superior performance from your old blades.
Q10. Does Leitz service all makes of tools?
ANSWER: Yes
Q11. Are more number of teeth required for better finish in a sawblade?
ANSWER: This is not so. It depends on the type of work piece material, machine, whether it is for longitudinal or cross cut of material. Please call our Application Engineer for selection of right type of tools.
Q12. How do I ensure optimum use of Leitz tools?
ANSWER: By selecting the optimum speed and feed. Please refer chapter on "important information and tables" in the Leitz LEXICON.
Q13. Is balancing necessary for tools?
ANSWER: Yes, balancing is necessary to ensure that the tool does not wobble while running. Wobbling in turn affects the component finish, increases the cutting load and affects the spindle bearings.
Q14. Is there a Sawblade that can be used on a Circular Saw Machine without scoring attachment to size prelaminated particle boards without chipping?
ANSWER: Yes. Sawblades with Hollow tooth-flat tooth (HZ/FA) or flat Trapezoidal (FZ/TR) tooth configurations can be used with good results. Please consult our application engineer for details.
Q15. What sawblade should I use for cutting laminate sheets single or in stacks?
ANSWER: Sawblades with Flat/Trapezodial tooth configuration is the one suitable for this application. Dimensions are to be selected on the basis of the machine being used.
Q16. I have some specific profiles to be made which are different from the ones shown in the catalogue. Can it be done?
ANSWER: There is a high quality Profile Grinder in our Service Centre, which, in combination with CAD, and the help of a Profile Projector specific profiles are made. It can be done on the blank profile knives in case of Cutterblocks with replaceable knives. Special brazed solid type cutterblocks can also be made as per sketch or sample piece of profile. The specifications of the Spindle Moulder like pm, spindle dia, maximum dia of tool possible, are also to be given in the enquiry.
Q17. Can Router Cutters be used on the Portable Drilling Machines or the Pillar Drilling Machines which are used for drilling metals?
ANSWER: No. Router Cutters have to work at high r.p.m. of atleast 12000. Drilling machines, especially the ones for metal have low r.p.m. of 2500.
Q18. Can Dowell Drills be used for drilling through holes?
ANSWER: No. Dowell drills are only for drilling blind holes. For drilling through holes, a Through Hole drilling bit is to be used.
Q19. Can Leitz tools be used on all machines?
ANSWER: Leitz has specific tools for specific make of machines. These are detailed in the catalogue. If still in doubt, ask our application engineers. |
